Just a few things today. First thing: A Demon’s Sanction is going to be available in print soon(ish)! Yay for modern print-on-demand technology! Woo! Also hooray for my super-awesome brother Gage for helping me out with some bleed issues on the covers for both books because I am not quite hopelessly inept with digital art stuff, but it’s a damn close thing. Anyhow, I’m waiting on the printer to make satisfied-with-the-cover noises, then there’s all the proof stuff to work though, but it should be available in sometime in the next few weeks.
Thing the second: I’m considering posting a few teasers in the next few weeks. I have a few things simmering away on my fancy computer machine: the next Riverton Demon novel for one thing. A spin-off novel, too, featuring a friendly aquaintence-slash-work-associate of Michael and May’s, and her friend— a new character that is introduced in the next novel and who Michael takes a shine to. (Not that I blame him, I took a shine to the guy too.) So there’s that.
There is also a completely unrelated and separate work that I’ve been shining up a bit. I banged it out over last year’s NaNoWriMo, and it’s not too shabby if I do say so myself. No demons in this one, unless you’re of a particularly speciesist bent, which a few folks are out there in Fictionland.
There’s also my recently banged out accidental novella that I suppose I could consider, if y’all are interested in that sort of thing. It’s entirely unrelated to anything else I’ve written and in my head feels more lighthearted and almost dangerously close to comic while still standing firmly in the world of urban fantasy because that is just my personal flavor of fiction for this decade. There’s also some random writing prompt type stuff that is pretty much based on things my dad has said when we’re out not-running. (I don’t run. It just has never been a thing for me. But I have a regular commitment to not being a completely lazy humanlike creature.)
Next thing: my son and I are going to be traveling! Globally even! I’m pretty excited, since going to Japan has been basically the one thing I’ve wanted to do for literally as long as I can remember. My grandparents (and my father, when he was maybe six years old himself) lived there once, and they had all sorts of art and stories from their time there that fascinated me, even more than the stories about when they lived in the mostly empty chalet in France. So I’m pretty thrilled that my awesome husband has managed to make this happen for me. What it means for you, my friends, is that if I don’t get things set up in order here, the blog may go a little sideways for a week or two. I hope that won’t be the case, but I make no promises where computers are involved.
Last, but not least by any means: there’s some fun stuff coming up in the next week. Just saying. Watch This Space.
So there ya go. If there are any preferences for what you’d like to see as far as my works in progress go, let me know! I will likely be posting a teaser or two for the next book, no matter what I settle on, but if there’s a preference for additional Extras as it were, speak up! I’d love to hear from you!
